[Jane's on deck, looking somewhat annoyed. Which is pretty typical for her.] So, are we quite finished with all the selfish, Worship of the Me displays for the moment? It's so hard to focus when you are all panicked over some Previous dramatics.

She couldn't have even managed to be around her own flowers. She had to ruin ours.

[Not really the best introduction but...hey, there's more!]

Have any of you ever read this Rulebook? [She holds up George's Bible.]

If you do, you don't follow it very well, do you? Granted...I'm not too far into it because it doesn't seem like any language I've ever seen. Well, and most of it doesn't read like a Rulebook, but I did find some.

[She puts it back into her lap.] But I know it's not the only Rulebook out there. So what are the others?

And why don't you follow them?

[Pause.] This isn't a lecture, anyway. I don't care what Rules you do or don't follow. But I've broken plenty in my life. I've just never seen them broken collectively and with such...obvious disregard.

It's almost admirable.

Oh, and where does it talk about the invisible birds? Or butterflies. [Pause as she tries to find the word.] Souls.

Like there wasn't a set number for the Mildew?

You have to stop somewhere, or we're no different.

Did she disappear, Eddie? Did she go away?

No. She's alive and well.

What does it matter?

It doesn't, really. She is just fine.

But it's a related thought, isn't it?

It is. But it's different at home, Red.

Wasn't our most recent frustration here that it was too much like home?

I'm not arguing, really. I... just wondered about the implication. Victor has some... interesting thoughts on death here.

He can't stand it. He thinks the death toll is... immoral somehow.

Immoral?

These people and their morals. They're never the same.

You can almost see the point in a singular rule book.

But yes. He thinks... the Admiral has no right to bring people back to life. That, I imagine, he should be in his afterlife, not here.

I still don't understand this 'afterlife.'

Well, it seems to be quite literal.

Somewhere you go afterlife.

But surely you're alive here. You can breathe and everything.
